Earlier this morning, I was out on our porch writing my “Confessions of a Mommy Blogger” post.
This is a daily occurrence for me. The way it normally goes is I read other blogs and troll around the Internet until Cara’s first nap. Once she’s asleep, I go out on the porch, drink my coffee and smoke my cigarettes and write out my post long hand. This task is usually punctuated with our friendly neighborhood lizards chasing each other around my feet.
Anyway, while I was out there, I noticed that there were no lizards. Not a damn one. Ok. Whatever. I just figured that they found a more posh home than in front of our porch. I was hurt, but not devastated. That was until I looked over to my left…maybe three feet and saw Moe. Yep, I named him…because I name everything.
Moe looks like a Garter Snake to me, but I can’t find a definite subspecies that looks just like him. Since most snakes change as they mature, I guess I’ll just have to wait and see.
