Spoiled

I’m talking about me, not Cara.

I got no [ok…very little] sleep last night and I’m amazed at how quickly my body forgot what it feels like to run on only about four hours of sleep.

Damn, the kid has me spoiled!

I had totally gotten used to being in bed by 10 pm and waking up to feed Cara around 5 am. Then, we would both go back to our respective beds and sleep for another two hours.

Yeah. That didn’t happen last night.

The first time, she woke up right around the time that Tucker and I were having “business time“. Jump forward three hours and cue the crying. Stumble forward another two and a half hours and add in some more crying and a bit of cussing [from me, not her].

I finally gave up at 7 am. I was awake, she was awake and there was no way in hell that she was going back to sleep.

Of course, when Caroline and I got up, Tucker stayed in bed [lazy asshole].

His majesty didn’t get up until an hour later and I had to unleash the dogs on him to get his ass up then.

I’m apparently having a day of resentment toward him. [can you tell?] I’ll tell him later…after he buys me lunch.

I understand that he works at a “real” job and that he has to be at work at 6:30 am and sometimes earlier if he has to PT. But, I get up every morning just like he does. While he deals with assholes at his job, I deal with the asshole dogs and Cara [who gets her asshole tendencies from her dad].

I know that we agreed to not compare our jobs, but keeping to that agreement is damn hard today.

I really wish that he had gotten up when she did, brought her into bed so that I could nurse her and then taken her into the living room and let me get an extra hour of sleep.

Honestly, I would have been up and in the living room within fifteen minutes, but it would have been nice to have had the option of NOT GETTING UP!

I’m better now. Promise.

Cara’s napping right now; I think I might follow her lead.

Once she wakes up, we’re going to Barnes and Nobles to get the fifth book in the Harry Potter series so that I can continue with my growing obsession.

I think I’m going to make Tucker buy me something yummy for lunch…maybe Indian…mmm…curry…
