You know what I like? I like it when I screw-up and it turns out good.

Yesterday, in between reading book 7 of the Harry Potter Series, I made a chocolate cake from scratch.

One of those jobbers that your grandma probably made that’s so thin and runny when you put it in the oven that you’re convinced that you screwed up somehow.

The recipe called for a 1/4 cup of cocoa. I had about an 1/8 of a cup. Did I give up? Nope! I added a teaspoon of vanilla and a teaspoon of cinnamon and hoped for the best.

Amazingly enough, the cakes taste like snicker-doodle cookies. How did that happen? I’m not quite sure. But, those cakes sure were tasty.

Do I have a good excuse for not writing anything yesterday? Not really.

Part of it was that I was/am reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Yep, I finally succumbed to the series. I fought the good fight, but in the end, it was futile. I’ve been bitten so badly by this stupid Harry Potter “bug” that I’m even considering a Harry Potter game or two.

Trust me, I’m hanging my head in shame.

The husband is considering an “early out” apparently.

My stress level just shot through the damn roof. He’s due to be out of the Navy in April. If he gets out early, then he’ll be out in February.

I know that’s not a huge time difference, but I’ve had it in my head for almost four years now that we would be moving back to Arkansas in April of ‘08.

It might take me a day or two to get used to this new idea.
