Where I Whine About My Child’s Lack of Sleep

Man, I know that Monday was a holiday, but this week just seemed to drag for me.

I have a sneaking suspicion that it might have a tiny bit to do with the fact that Cara has taken to waking up twice during the night again.

She eats and then goes right back to sleep and even though I can pass right back out as well, it sucks to not be able to sleep uninterrupted.

That and I’m worried that I’m creating this problem again.

If she were eating a huge “people food” dinner, then I wouldn’t be concerned that she’s hungry when she wakes in the middle of the night.

But, she generally just nibbles on what I give her when we’re eating dinner. She’s not picky, she just doesn’t eat very much.

I’m definitely not going to push the eating “thing”.

I put her in her highchair when we eat dinner and giver her whatever we’re eating along with some apple or pear slices and when she’s done eating, I take her out of her chair and she goes on about her business.

My mom was/is a big proponent of the “one more bite” school of thought. Before I ever had Cara, I swore that I wouldn’t do that to my kid. I don’t want to force her to eat once she’s full.

I’m probably worrying about nothing. I just know that I have horrible eating habits and that’s one hing about myself that I don’t want to pass on.
