Why is it that almost every woman that the media interviews concerning the elections always says, “I’m voting for Hillary because she’s a woman and I’m a woman and we need a woman president.”

WTF?

I really don’t understand this line of thinking.

Does that mean that if you’re black, you should automatically vote for Obama just because he’s black.

Isn’t that selling yourself a bit short?

What happened to voting for a candidate because you agreed with their foreign policy or their stance on border security and the economy?

One thing that sucks about me being pregnant right now is the fact that Cara’s not weaned.

She had cut herself down to one real feeding when she woke up and one real feeding right before bed and then she would nurse when she woke up in the middle of the night. In addition to the real feedings, she would graze several times a day for maybe five minutes at a time.

I had planned on fully weaning her before we moved home but now it’s a necessity.

Yesterday was not a fun day.

Midday sickness [cause I don’t get morning sickness] started around 11 am and lasted for the majority of the day.

Luckily, no puking is ever involved so I can completely cope.

When Tucker got home from work, we headed to Old Navy to check out the sale that they are having right now.

I couldn’t help but smile at the fact that I was going to be shopping in the maternity section. Tucker of course called me a dork and I practically skipped to the pregnant ladies’ clothes.

I feel the need to defend myself about this post.

I didn’t write it as any sort of New Year’s resolution. I know from personal experience that New Year’s resolutions don’t work. In fact, 63% fail with in two month.

Mine always have failed and since all of my “acceptable” excuses for over-eating were past me, [i.e. Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas] I was finally ready to quit being a quitter [you know what I mean] and to finally change small things that would eventually lead to big payoffs.

However, I’m going to have to put all of that on hold…at least for nine months.

I’m really sorry about the infrequency of posts around New Years.

Tucker was off from work a lot and for some reason I find it difficult to work when he’s home. Also, for the past couple of days I’ve been really nauseous and doing anything other than laying on the couch didn’t figure into my day.

Our New Years was probably one of the least eventful known to man.

Let’s just say that I was very proud of us for making it to midnight. I remember partying into the wee hours of the nights when I was in college and now I’m lucky if I make it till 10 pm.

It’s my birthday today.
