You would have to try harder than to have a review in your blog to 'dupe' me. (well, most days...)

You've always been really good at 'disclosing' that this particular post is a review or for a contest... I honestly don't think you have anything to worry about.

I personally don't have a problem with the occasional product reviews in a main blog, provided that the reviews are unbiased and are clearly marked as reviews. Plus, if you got free product out of it, I want to know that, too. Full disclosure and all that jazz.

I'm not often offered products to review, and most of the time I turn them down unless it's a product I'm actually interested in and/or was considering buying, anyway. I don't just accept any free stuff that comes my way.

In the review area, I mostly write the occasional iPhone app reviews. Totally unbiased and no one is paying me to write them. I just like sharing great products with friends.

In short, I say go for it. As long as you're still posting the stuff you normally post, it's no big deal. That said, I know there are some who passionately hate reviews on blogs. But your friends, your fans, they'll stick with you.

I read the reviews for stuff I might buy because they are mixed in with everything else. If they were somewhere else I doubt I would ever read them. I am curiously awaiting the review of the boon spout thingy because I have one and wonder what other people think of them.
