My Butt is a Good Hiding Place

I’m sitting here on the couch and I’m a kid down.

Tucker took Cara to the dentist this morning to get this weird discoloration thing fixed [I say weird discoloration thing since the dentist never said it was a cavity since it was hard] and I just know when she gets home that she’s going to be as loopy as that kid whose dad video taped him and then put it on YouTube. I personally laughed my ass off at that video and didn’t get all the “YOU’RE EXPLOITING YOUR KID!!!”*gnashing of teeth and all that*

Since Ollie is currently without his partner in crime, he has decided to do twice as much damage as he normally would so that he can compensate for the lack of Cara. You gotta appreciate a kid with a good work ethic.

His new favorite trick is to go find something he should not have, show it to me, run the opposite direction of me and then bring the object to me while he laughs and then grips it like his hand is the Jaws of Life or whatever. Of course, I end up having to wrench random object from Ollie’s grubby little hand and then he screams like I wrenched the random object AND his hand…which I didn’t.

This leads to much eye rolling on my part.

For some reason he’s cool with bringing me the random shit and handing it over with no fuss if I’m still. Maybe me walking toward him triggers some sort of prey instinct?

So, in addition to sitting on the couch, I’m also sitting on my phone, a tube of tooth paste, a paint pen and a comb.

He’s cool with giving me the stuff as long as it magically disappears. If it’s not out of his sight within two seconds then he demands it back. My butt is very good at hiding stuff. Wait…that doesn’t sound right. Hmm. Oh well. I think that’s just a sentence I’m going to have to own.

I started this post right after Cara and Tucker left and I was going to show you guys a video of Cara in Ollie’s crib cause it was cute – not funny, just cute – but I gave up.

She apparently got through the whole ordeal like a champ, though she’s still a bit sleepy and not quite herself. She’s still complaining about her lip “being big” and since she got the teeth filled at 9am, I think it should have worn off by now. Time will tell and I’m not sure how much of it is her lip really still being numb and how much of it is her getting used to saying it’s numb.

Silly three year olds.

Now, y’all know how I feel about the dentist but it seems this dentist experience was pretty darn positive for Cara and that makes me more than happy.

But, I have to wonder, have you had a bad dentist experience and is your butt a good hiding place? Yeah…I’m going to kick myself for that last question.
