Hints at What’s to Come

This weekend was just a normal weekend.

We cleaned up a bit. I broke my website so I could fix it and redesign it. I waited impatiently for my copy of Charlaine Harris’s new Sookie Stackhouse book – Dead in the Family – to arrive. I have some opinions on the book. Once Alana finishes my copy I lent her, I’ll let y’all know what I think about the book…complete with spoilers.

You’ve been warned.

I started on the first book of the Percy Jackson series – if you’ve never read them, I highly suggest you start.

We went to our friends’ house on Saturday and the kids played until they were covered in sand, sweat and grass and about to fall asleep standing up. The kids were out before we got home so both went to their beds without baths and this morning, Tucker washed their sheets to get all of the sand out.

Today, Tucker moved the living room around and I cooked dinner.

Nothing remarkable about the weekend.

But it’s been a good weekend. Tucker and I have talked nonstop about the possibility of something big happening which I can’t discuss here yet. We’ve been thinking a lot about where we want to go with regards to our lives and what we want for ourselves and the kids.

For the first time in the past year, it feels like we have a common goal – something to work toward. A bit like it felt when we were in Florida because of the Navy. Since we first moved to Huntsville, it’s been just about getting by and then getting used to the city and then day-to-day life. While I don’t think we’re the first people to get stuck in the rut of daily life, we’re attempting to get out of it and make some big changes.

As you well know, I like order. I like schedules and I like to know what’s coming up. I make plans and then my plans have baby plans which then give my original plans grandbaby plans. If I make enough plans then I figure I won’t be surprised. I try to look at all sides and never let anything sneak up on me.

This weekend involved a lot of planning.

I dislike cryptic posts but for the moment, all I have to offer is a normal, wonderful weekend and hints at what’s to come.
