Chicken nuggets are as American as apple pie and Chinese food.
[I knew you wouldn't believe me about Chinese food which is why I linked to a Ted Talk about that subject.]
Just like Chinese food and apple pie, you [and your kids] probably shouldn’t be eating chicken nuggets for every meal every day of the week.
But a few times a month when a busy day has kicked you in the butt or you’re in a hurry to get errands finished? I have done that more than once and I’ll keep doing it.
The new trend in food is to go “whole grain” and most food companies do a horrible job of it.
Perdue does a good job of adding some whole grain to a kid favorite without it tasting too cardboard like. You know what I’m talking about.
On the whole I liked the Whole Grain Chicken Breast Nuggets.
The kids ate them with no complaints and often asked for more. The nuggets can be prepared in the oven [about 11 minutes] or in the microwave [about 2 minutes] so I didn’t have to beat kids off of me while I was getting lunch together. Even my two impatient kids can wait two minutes.
My only complaint is that when they’re done in the microwave, they’re greasy feeling; in the oven they crisp up. Personal preference and you might not care or feel the same way about it.
