I basically sang anywhere: the shower, the car, the checkout line at Walmart. And, you know? I wasn’t that bad. Actually, I was pretty good.
As the years have passed – not too many years, mind you – I have wondered what I would have done if presented with the chance to audition for one of those reality talent show. The answer? Probably nothing. All of the auditions were always too far away from my small Arkansas town and there was no way my mom would have let me drive so far by myself.
Talent: The Casting Call fixes the distance problem for anyone with fame aspirations since you don’t even have to leave your bedroom to audition; you submit your audition online.
This isn’t one of those fake audition sites that have cropped up over the years; this is the real deal.
Alloy Entertaiment (the folks behind The Vampire Diaries and Gossip Girls) and Jive Records (home to Jordin Sparks, P!nk, Justin Timberlake and Bullet For My Valentine) have teamed up to create a web series called Talent – which will air January 2011. Ladies between the ages of 16 and 24 upload their auditions at www.thetalentshow.com from now until September 28th. Get ready for that audition with diva-worthy essentials from COVERGIRL, Olay, Pantene, Venus and Secret since fans everywhere will be voting for their favorites.
Then, on October 6th, 20 semi-finalist will be selected and out of that 20, only six will move forward to compete to be Alloy Entertainment and Jive Records’s Top Talent. That winner will then head out to sunny Hollywood for a lead role in the scripted web series, Talent. In addition to the acting gig, the winner also wins a recording contract with Jive Records.
