Our “baby plan” is that Oliver is going to stay in our room till he outgrows the bassinet part of our pack-n-play and then he’ll move into Cara’s room.  [Can't wait for that mayhem.]

Since Oliver won’t be using the crib for a while, we weren’t in any hurry to get any sort of crib bedding and had actually planned on just tossing on a crib sheet and calling it good.  But, when we see cheap, we just can’t pass it up.

Cara got a toddler bed yesterday.

As you can see from the picture, her crib is still up.  I figured I was doing good by just getting the toddler bed put together.  Actually, I was a fucking rockstar!

That bed has eight slats.  Each one of those slats has a peg on each end of the slat.  Each of those pegs must go in both sides of the bed…at the SAME time!  By the time I got that stupid bed together, I would have sooner thrown it than looked at it.  BUT, the bed was/is a very nice gift from Cara’s grandparents and aunt so it would have been just a bit rude to wreck the nice bed.

I am not an economic genius; I am a writer.  [I also like to state the obvious and use brackets a lot.]

The obvious having been stated, I do know that the economy sucks ass right now.  Gas prices are at an all-time high, food prices are through the roof and the mei-tai that I want costs like $100.

So, in an effort to help people [specifically bloggers] out, Kristen has started the “Blog the Recession” dealio.

We all understand the basic concept of a baby registry.  Right?

Pregnant women and adopting parents sign up at a store of their choosing for the items that they want.  Then friends and family carefully select the largest, least expensive item on the list.  [Biggest bang for your buck]

If for some reason you either can’t access the registry online, in the store, or you just don’t give a shit then you purchase a gift card - just make sure it’s obnoxiously cute.

I was over at mod*mom this morning and she has an announcement about Boon releasing some really cool toddler meal time items.

We have the Frog Pod and love it and I’m getting really excited to see these new things in the stores.

I think that they’re cool and figured that you might too.
