She Works Hard for the Money

I am not an economic genius; I am a writer.  [I also like to state the obvious and use brackets a lot.]

The obvious having been stated, I do know that the economy sucks ass right now.  Gas prices are at an all-time high, food prices are through the roof and the mei-tai that I want costs like $100.

So, in an effort to help people [specifically bloggers] out, Kristen has started the “Blog the Recession” dealio.

It Wasn’t You It Was Me

If you’ve been trying to access this site in Internet Explorer [WHY?!] then I’m sure that you’ve been running into that cute little error box and then the site would abort on ya.

Well, the problem was Sitemeter and said code has been removed.  SO, to all of you who have NO clue what I’m talking about, carry on.  For those of you with Sitemeter on your own blog, delete it.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Yup, I Know.

I know that my blog is wonky and I thank you for your kind emails and DM via Twitter.

I must leave redesign to go and do family stuff so I promise to fix everything in a few.

I’m All Sold Out

Smoking HarlotAm I a sellout or “money grubbing whore” because I run adds on my site?

WIkipedia defines sellout like this:

“Selling out refers to the compromising of one’s integrity, morality and principles in exchange for money, ’success’ or other personal gain. It is commonly associated with attempts to increase mass appeal or acceptability to mainstream society. A person who does this, as opposed to following the original path s/he laid (or claimed to lay) out for him/herself, is labeled a sellout and regarded with disgust and immediate loss of respect. Selling out is seen as gaining success at the cost of credibility.”

Who Needs Focus?

One thing that every new blogger learns is that a blog must have a “focus”.

The idea is that, in order to build a readership, you must be an expert in something and only write about that something.

All you have to do is check out my Categories to realize that I don’t do focus.

I don’t want to be tied down by it; focus seem constrictive.

Sure I’m a mom and I write about my [amazing] daughter, but, does that mean that I have to be a “mommy blogger” and only write about my [amazing] kid?

What Have I Gotten Myself Into?!

Well, I got the bright idea to get my own domain. I get tired of typing in http://TastesLikeCrazy.blogspot.com. It’s long and cumbersome and why not just have Tasteslikecrazy.com. Right?

Wrong. It’s already taken. Sad times. So, I got Tastelikecrazy.com. Now I have to make my own web site and all the fun that is included in said web site. I haven’t done anything yet and it probably won’t be up for quite a while, so don’t start changing your bookmarks just yet.

I consider myself pretty tech savvy. I made my own header and once I figure out how to send a damn trackback, I will have pretty much mastered the Internet. (yeah, right)

Confessions of a Mommy Blogger

I originally started this blog over on Everything Baby as a journal of sorts.  It was a way for me to vent about crap that was going on in my life and a way for me to talk about Caroline without having to worry about people thinking that I was bragging.

After several entries, I started noticing that a lot of members were reading what I was writing.  I received several PMs about my journal and Julie over at Shelter Girl asked me if I had a blog.  That’s how this blog came to be.

Pretty innocent, huh?
