Grow Baby, Grow

Hey! Haven't seen you here before. Welcome to Taste Like Crazy! You might want to subscribe to my RSS feed so you don't miss anything. Feel free to leave a comment, read through the archives, and enjoy yourself. Hope to see you again soon.

When PBN first sent me Amazing Baby and read that the author was Desmond Morris, I kept saying Desmond Morris’s name over and over because it sounded so familiar to me.

After a bit of thinking, I realized that Morris is the guy who wrote The Naked Ape - a book my grandpa told me to read back in high school. [A bit dry but interesting nonetheless.]

Magnetic Cuteness

I really don’t have anything negative to say about Magnet Street baby announcements.  PBN asked me to review these announcements and since they were gonna give me 25 for free, [and I'm a cheap skate] I couldn’t turn them down.

My initial thought on a magnetic baby announcement was that they were going to look cheap.

I Miss Maternity Clothes

It seems like these days that everyone is either getting pregnant, is pregnant, or is having a baby.

One thing that I loved about being pregnant was the clothes.

I know that sounds 100% counter intuitive judging by the picture to the left, but seriously, the maternity clothes that are out there really rawk.

There are actually trendy maternity clothes out there that look better than some “non-pregnant” clothes.  Two awesome examples are Paige Maternity Jeans and Juicy Maternity Jeans [I REALLY love Juicy clothes].  Actually, I love just about everything that Juicy does.  Their perfume is awesome and I’m currently lusting after some of their diaper bags.

Maybe Baby Review and Giveaway

The only thing I don’t like about this book is the cover…and the copious talk of masturbating in bathrooms.

The end.

OK.  That’s not really all of the review.

Parent Bloggers sent me Maybe Baby: An Infertile Love Story which is written by Mathew M. F. Miller who writes Maybe Baby - the blog.

The book chronicles Matthew and his wife’s journey toward a baby and the annoying roadblock of infertility.

Quick note: if you have issues with the mental picture of a bald guy “giving a sperm sample” in a hospital bathroom then this is definitely not the book for you.  [Just thought that you'd like to know.]

What’s In the Cup is More Important

At least it's not Dora.

Cara LOVES yogurt.  Not just a little bit.  Cara loves yogurt like a junky loves his next fix.

She’s become just a tad bit independent in her old age and has started insisting that she feed herself the yogurt.  Since she was eating the adult Yoplait that I eat, the stuff would always end up more ON her than IN her and it would take like 30 minutes for her to eat that tiny container of sticky goodness.

I finally resorted to mixing the yogurt with milk and making a bastardized version of a smoothie.  [yogurt + milk + sippy cup + shake like hell = smoothie.]

Semi Homemade Meets The Heathers

Before Parent Bloggers offered The White Trash Mom Handbook for my reading and reviewing pleasure, I had never heard of Michelle Lamar or her blog, WhiteTrashMom.com. [That makes me a big, out of the loop looser, doesn't it?]

I was intrigued by the title of the book since #1 I’m from Arkansas, #2 I’m a mom #3 I have a pitbull and #4 we almost moved into a trailer.  I figured that all four of those listed facts would insure that I could identify with any book involving white trash moms…heck, I was basically guaranteed admission into the secret society.

That Baby DVD and CD

I grew up on a musical diet of The Beatles, Steeley Dan and Fleetwood Mac. Heck, my first concert was James Taylor when I was four. Tucker is as crazy about music as I am and we want to pass that love onto Cara.

While I know that some parents swear by Baby Einstein DVDs, they kind of make me want to gouge out my eyes.

If you feel the same way and are rather depressed over your choices when it comes to music DVDs for your kids, I’ve got a solution for ya: That Baby DVD and CD.
