As many of you guys know, I used to write a Spirits blog for b5Media and, well, now I don’t.
But that doesn’t mean I have quit loving awesome drinks and that also doesn’t mean I have stopped receiving information from my Spirits contacts.
Case in point: did you know March is the month of Charles Tanqueray’s birth. Yeah. That Tanqueray.
I’m a big fan of gin and Tanqueray is a classic. But, one of the best known drinks – the gin and tonic – isn’t always made the way it should be and I have the “official” Tanqueray recipe if you’re interested.
Ingredients:
- 1.25 oz Tanqueray
- 4 oz tonic water
- fresh lime wedges
- high-ball glass
- stirrer
- ice
Directions:
Squeeze a lime wedge into your high-ball glass and then fill it 2/3 with ice. Add your gin and then the tonic. Stir well. Run a wedge of lime around the edge of the glass and add it to the drink.
And you’re done! Time to drink.
